First, let me make no bones about my politics. I am a leftist liberal who believes that government has a critical role to play in an effective society. I am also a committed capitalist. The right balance, as represented by some democrats (Bill Clinton comes to mind) can produce peace and prosperity. The wrong policies (think of the idiot selected by the Supremes for the White House) can put a great country in trouble.
